Adam Brown
The charitable trust that runs PoolsiNSchoolZ is named after Adam Brown. Adam died in a freak jet ski accident a few days after Christmas 2002, at the age of 17. He was passionate surfer from an early age, spending many happy hours in the waves at Whangamata, Raglan and other surf spots.
The logo of the Adam Brown Water Safety Trust, a surfer walking along a beach, is reproduced from a wonderful painting by C Ward, commissioned by Robyn and Graeme Hart and generously gifted by them to Adam’s parents.
This image, which captures the essence of Adam, can also be seen on a plaque on a seat overlooking the harbour entrance at Whangamata, together with the inscription:
Always in our hearts
